The best morning routine to be productive

woman holding white mug while lying on bed

I struggled like crazy to find a morning routine to be productive and did plenty of research for it: things to do, things to avoid, planners, everything! I was feeling stressed and overwhelmed.

There were hundreds of things that I tried, since drinking more coffee to stop drinking it, I started watching videos and I even asked my friends! However, there was something I never tried: waking up early.

On vacations, the perfect time to wake up was 10:30-11:00 am. I liked to go to sleep late and then waking up late and sometimes I slept for more than 12 hours! Can you imagine that?

So I set a goal. I said I was going to reduce thirty minutes every day until I could wake at 5:30 am.

And I did it! Oh My God, how satisfied I felt when I could complete all my important tasks before noon!

The feeling of being efficient and productive on vacations was incredible! I felt like had won the lottery or something like that!

So let’s do this. Let’s share the morning routine that increased my productivity from none to 100%.

The best morning routine to be productive

1. Wake up at 5:30 am.

I always thought that waking up at that time was not necessary. I mean, why waking up at 5:30 when you can do it at 11:00 and still have the same amount of time during the day to do your tasks?

Waking up early, my dear friends, will help you a lot when it comes to productivity since it helps you feel more relaxed.

But Dani, How can you feel more relaxed after sleeping fewer hours?

Easy, the more you sleep the more tired you feel. It’s a fact.

When I woke up at 11, my body felt incredibly tired and I just wanted to stay in bed as much as I could but, after waking up early, I could see a huge difference.

My body was more relaxed, my energy was on the top and I had a lot of time to finish all my tasks in the morning! I mean, it is a big difference between one and six hours.

2. Drink a glass of water right away.

And I thought drinking water in the morning was stupid, HA! What a fool.

It’s been said by studies that drinking water in the morning has thousands of benefits.

And it is true.

After I started drinking that glass of warm water in the morning I could feel the difference.

I spent my day more energized, I went to the bathroom even more and my stomach felt so good all day. (Note: My stomach used to be upset all the time)

Drinking water was the best thing I could do.

3. Exercise.

After that glass of water, I go for a run or go to the gym, depending on my mood.

Exercising is a plus in my morning routine since it has done a lot for me.

I’ve lost weight, I feel more energized and my skin has improved in a surprising way!

Since I started exercising, I can feel a difference in my body. It feels less tired, more powerful and I feel a lot better with myself!

So yeah, I can say that implementing the exercise into my morning routine was the best decision I ever did.

4. Drink a cup of green tea.

Green tea is not only part of my morning routine, but daily routine too.

It is for something that Japanese love this tea. The benefits it gives you are infinite. It can help you from your weight loss journey to substitute your coffee if you ever want to quit it!

I feel brand new after drinking that cup of tea in the morning.

5. Breakfast and planner

After taking a shower and getting dressed, I immediately prepare my breakfast, which is usually a meal full of proteins to gain the energy I need to have a great day.

While having breakfast, I check my planner. Yes, I check, not set nor write.

I feel like I am more productive when I set my to-do list the day before. That way, I can have a clearer view of my day and I can start right away and do something more productive during the time I should be setting my list.

7. Check my e-mail/social media

I always check my e-mail and social media before starting my day. However, I try to spend 15-20 minutes on it, since spending a lot of time in social media can low my level of productivity and make me procrastinate A LOT.

Something I usually do is to set a timer to check my social media. Knowing I have limited time to do it, I stay focused and try to finish it as fast as I can.

8. Start my tasks

I always prioritize.

I begin with the most important tasks, like studying for a test or planning a class and continue with the less important ones. Like that, I can focus on what I have to do and ignore all the world!

It is important for me to set the timer since I use the Pomodoro technique to be more productive and I always do that before starting any of my tasks.

And that’s it! The morning routine to be productive!

This is a great idea for a morning routine. I like how it doesn’t have tons of tasks before you get to start the day.

Thank you so much for reading!
I don’t like having too many things to do before actually starting my day because I feel that it’ll make me lose time that I can use in other things c:
